April 25 - Here we go again

It is harder to find time to run now. I am in Iowa with the main goal of watching the kids so Heather can help her family and be there for her dad. I haven't run since April 21. On April 21, I ran only 2 miles with the thought that that was my last run before the Country Music Marathon. Time to start training again.

Heather came over to my in-laws house late in the evening so I could run.

I am not sure when I am going to run, but I know I am going to run a marathon soon. I decided to go ahead and run 6 miles and see how it goes. I built up some carbs during the week in preparation for the Country Music Marathon.

Davenport, IA is a very hilly city. I didn't really start noticing that until during Christmas when I was running. I was running up the hill on 53rd and noticed a sign that went up to 8 and down to 6 then at 7. I wasn't sure what it was as I ran closer I figured it out. It was a speed limit monitor. When I noticed this, I started to run faster to see how high I could get it. I got it up to 10 up hill. Made the rest of the run a bit harder, but it was closer to the end of the run.

6.11 miles 56:14 total time, 9:11 minute mile pace, 920 calories

I was happy with the pace and the time. Felt good.

I'M BACK!!
