April 19 - Only 5 days

Only a few days left until the race starts. Today was a 3 mile run. I decided to run during my lunch time today. I wanted to run when it was humid to prepare a bit for Saturday - in case it was humid. I ate the peanut butter and jelly sandwhich and had an apple. Off to the run. I basically ran to Kroger and back. I wanted to really work at the race pace and try to make the race pace built into me.

It was great, when I got back to the house from running. Josh came running outside. I was wslking a cool down, but Josh wanted to run. So he ran next to me around the house twice. So cute. Josh was so proud that he was running. Great moment!

3.00 miles - 28:31 minutes - 9:28 minute mile pace - 452 calories

At one point when I was running, I pushed the button on my IPOD and I was running an 8:30 minute mile pace. So I slowed down, the last mile I was able to keep it around a 9:50 minute mile pace. I am concerned I am going to start off too fast. I will be focused on not starting out too fast. Also, I don't want to start off too slow as well.

Now that I have finished this run. I only have 1 more run left! I have a 2 mile run on Wednesday. Then on Thursday and Friday I am scheduled to walk 1 mile.

Found out that Michael has a baseball game Friday afternoon/evening. He has a game at 6:00. That changes my plans for Friday night. We'll need to arrive at the game around 5:15 to warm up, leave from home around 4:45 or so, eat dinner around 4:15. I think I'll end up driving my car to the game and then leave after the game for Nashville. I think Heather is going to drive me up so that we only have 1 car in Nashville. I'll be able to hit the sack around 8:00 or 8:30 to get some rest.

The weather is forecast is 60 - 80 degrees during the race with scattered thunderstorms/showers. Sounds humid. I hope it is not too humid, but I know Michael has 2 games on the Saturday of the race he is going to miss. I would love for it to rain out so that he doesn't miss any of the games. We'll see.
