The music I had in my IPOD was good, but there was only 20 songs that I had been listening to. It was time to get some new songs and get organized. I went on ITUNES and found some new songs to get in my IPOD for my run. I also moved all the fast songs in a "Running music" folder. This way I don't have to listen to any slow songs while I am running. I purchased 4 songs. What songs are out there that would be fun to listen to. I dug for quite a while. I needed to also find a theme song for the run. I wanted one song that I could listen to right before I run and while I am cooling down. What song would that be? I ended up purchasing: Cotton Eye Joe (Live version) - it was fun to listen to and a little different, and 2 Bon Jovi songs - It's my Life and Livin On A Prayer. Bon Jovi has some great running music! Eye of Tiger by Survivor is a great workout song that speaks of working through challenges and fighting to win. I choose this as my theme song. I have always liked the song. Back to the 80s when I run.
Today is the long run - 11 miles! I ran the greenway course. I am almost at a half marathon. Unbelieveable!! I am really getting this done.
11.01 miles - 1 hour 52 minutes 33 seconds - 10:13 minute mile - 1655 calories burned
My race pace was a bit slower than my goal pace for the race. The question is, will I be at that pace for the marathon. If I am not, that is ok. I just want to finish the race. I struggled on this run, but I did it.
